Not really, but Addison did throw us for a loop... again. When in Indianapolis, we went to see the tree lighting with Addison after his first Thanksgiving on the circle. It was cold, but so much fun and we were really nostalgic about that event. So, when we learned that Louisville had a tree lighting, we were very excited. They also had scheduled crafts for kids and Santa was to be there, etc. Unfortunately, when we arrived, it was very crowded and we had Lily in a stroller which was a hassle. We walked around long enough to learn that the line to do crafts was around the block, the kids were hungry and we weren't going to feed them elephant ears, and that we weren't really terribly excited about waiting for the tree to light up because we weren't really sure which tree is was. So, instead we went to Borders to get new Christmas books for Addison and Lily. Addison picked out "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer" and Lily picked out a small Angel board book. This book turned out to be Addison's all time favorite.
Now, getting to the reading part... Addison likes to read when he poops. Yes, you read it correctly, when he poops. Normally, he asks for us to read to him. But, the first weekend in December, Addison asked Mommy to come in the bathroom because he wanted to read me a story. He then proceeded to read to me the story of Rudolph. He turned the pages in all the right places, used all of the big words and hardly missed a word. Dave and I were floored. A couple of days later, he was taking a bath and started talking to himself. Dave and I realized then that he was reciting "The Polar Express". He's a sponge!
