The Christmas Bush

Each year, just after Thanksgiving, the Sharp family loads up in the family-truckster to venture off in search of that one beautiful item that is the perfect symbol of Christmas... the Christmas Bush (or Tree). For the last two years we've been lucky enough to have a place here in Southern Indiana to find one... Joe Huber Farms. Last year we chose a tree from Joe's that was perfect all throughout the month of December. Then, right after the New Year, in January of 2006, it hatched about 500 baby praying mantises in our kitchen and dining room. But that is another story for a different time. Needless to say, we are hopeful that this tree is a little nicer to us!

Searching for the perfect Christmas Bush is a very difficult and time consuming activity. That is why we like Joe Huber Farms so much because there is a lot of different things to see and enjoy, like horses, geese, cows, a petting zoo, a farm market with wonderful hot apple cider, a wine shop with great cheese, several different varieties of trees, and much more!

This year's search was extra special because we found the perfect tree (and the perfect gift: a day with my family) on Daddy's 30th birthday! We are sure to enjoy this tree this holiday season!
