MOOOOO at the Zoo

Last Halloween (2005) was our first time in Louisville during the festive season. As a result of being new to the community (and living in a newly built sub-division), we decided to "trick-or-treat" at the Louisville Zoo and we loved it! While we were there (Addison as Elmo and Lily as a newborn in a stroller) we spotted the perfect costumes for Addison and Lily for the next Halloween. A family had dressed their young son and daughter up as Thing #1 and Thing #2 from Dr. Seuss' The Cat in the Hat. Bingo! Amy and I thought. We said, "Next year we'll make costumes for Addison and Lily as the two Things and put them in a red wagon."

Well as Halloween approached this year, we started thinking that Mickey and Minnie Mouse might be appropiate and fun costumes too. Having a difficult time making a decision, we decided to ask Addison what he wanted to be... Thing #1 OR Mickey Mouse. He quickly and frankly stated: "No, I would like to be a cow so I can say MOOOOOO!!!!" And there you have it. As the pictures clearly show, Addison was a cow toting a football basket (?) for candy. Of course, Lily was a beautiful flower and she lived up to her name wonderfully. We had a great time again this year and we had the opportunity to spend our time at the zoo with some friends of ours, The Doyles, and Addison had a chance to hang-out with his best buddy - Elmo.

Actually, all four children had a blast and the parents had a chance to chat with one another and enjoy our children. I must say I was a little disappointed at first not to see Thing #1 and Thing #2 sporting their blue hair around the Louisville Zoo. But after seeing them in their extremely adorable costumes (that they picked out), I am very honored to have had the opportunity to take a cow and a flower to the zoo for Halloween. WHAT IS THIS???

Is this Addison Montgomery Sharp eating a piece of candy? How did this happen? Where are his parents? Oh boy, somebody is going to be in trouble!!!
