Christmas in Cincinnati!

The Sharp family tried to hit many of the Cincinnati Christmas activities and we were really able to make a dent since Amy was able to take some time off of work (for the first time in almost 10 years!!). We continue to be impressed with all of the family stuff to do here. If you wanted you could be busy every day. We have things on our list for next year, because we know we won't make it all this year!

The Krohn Conservatory had a Christmas tree decorated with homemade ornaments and a greenhouse with some of the most beautiful Christmas flowers and a cute little train for the kids to enjoy. Part of the train village is right behind Lily in this picture.

We hit downtown and it was downright frigid!! We started out going ice skating. The fact that they had hockey skates in Lily's size was fantastic! Dave clung to the edge and Amy tried her best to teach the kids to skate. Both kids were doing fairly well by the end. It was incredibly windy and a gust of wind blew Mommy and Addison on the last lap. Addison twisted and fell on his front and smacked his face. Amy told him that she hated to leave on a sour note and he reassured her by saying that "except for smacking my face, it was pretty fun". :)

We then ran over to Graeter's for some hot chocolate and a sugar cookie. The kids loved the cookies, but don't like hot chocolate. Lily took one sip and spit it out (all over a new light pink scarf) and exclaimed indignantly, "It's hot!". Yeah... that's why they call it "Hot" chocolate. LOL!

A ride on the trolley around downtown was a highlight for the kids. They were so excited about this...

We didn't get any pictures, but we also took a horse-drawn carriage ride... It was VERY cold!

Duke Energy has a really neat set up of model trains that helped us kick off the season. The conductors remembered Addison from last year. They lifted the hood and let the little blonde kid with a million questions see the inner-workings. He was so stoked! Lily also really enjoyed watching the trains and catching herself on camera as one of the trains had one attached to a TV.
